Banking Current Affairs — Daily Digest + Quiz for IBPS & SBI

Updated daily · Last refreshed 13 August 2026

Every banking and financial news item that matters for IBPS PO Mains, SBI PO, and RBI Grade B. Daily digest + 10-question quiz in 10 minutes. Free.

What goes into the daily digest

Every morning at 6 AM IST, the banking current affairs digest publishes: (1) Major banking news from last 24 hours (RBI circulars, monetary policy updates, new bank appointments), (2) Financial inclusion and government scheme updates, (3) Static GK points relevant to banking awareness, (4) A 10-question quiz testing retention.

Each news item has a "why it matters" annotation — not just what happened, but why IBPS or SBI examiners might ask about it. If a new UPI feature launches, the digest explains the concept behind UPI architecture (which is genuinely testable), not just the headline.

Daily quiz format

The quiz is 10 questions in 10 minutes. Questions draw from the last 30 days of digest content, weighted toward the most recent week. Marking is +1 correct, -0.25 wrong — same as banking exams.

Track your accuracy over time. Students who maintain 80%+ on daily quizzes for 4+ weeks typically score 30+/40 on the actual IBPS Mains Banking Awareness section.

Weekly + monthly compilation PDFs

On Sundays, a weekly compilation PDF consolidates the 7-day digest into a single revision document. On the last day of each month, a monthly compilation covers the 30 highest-impact news items of the month for final revision.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far back should I revise current affairs for banking exams?

For IBPS PO Mains: 6-8 months of current affairs. For SBI PO: 6 months. For RBI Grade B: 9-12 months (broader Economy & Finance section). Our monthly compilation PDFs let you catch up systematically.

Does the digest cover RBI monetary policy in detail?

Yes. Every bi-monthly RBI MPC meeting gets dedicated coverage: repo rate decision, CRR/SLR changes, reverse repo, MSF, growth/inflation projections, and MPC dissent details. These are high-probability IBPS/SBI Mains questions.

Is Banking Awareness just current affairs?

No. Banking Awareness combines static (permanent) knowledge — RBI structure, Basel III norms, banking history, NPA classification — with dynamic current affairs. The digest covers both; static topics rotate on a weekly schedule, current affairs are daily.

What if I miss a day?

All past digests are archived. You can catch up by reading a single weekly compilation rather than 7 daily digests. The monthly PDF on the 30th/31st is the fastest catch-up option.

Is this Hindi-available?

The digest is English-primary with Hindi terminology footnotes for banking-specific terms (e.g., "statutory liquidity ratio / सांविधिक तरलता अनुपात"). Fully-Hindi digest is on the 2026 roadmap.

Are current affairs questions asked in Prelims?

No. IBPS PO and SBI PO Prelims do not have a General Awareness section. Current affairs appear in Mains (Banking Awareness section, 40 questions). For Clerk, current affairs appear in Mains too.
